Hilton Head lawns get judged more often than most. Between plantation architectural standards and the number of properties that turn over to a new set of guests every week, a yard here is on display in a way a yard on a quiet street is not, and the gap between cut and overdue shows up fast.
That is the case for a fixed interval rather than calling when it looks long. We come on a set day, do the same work in the same order, and leave the property reading as maintained. Coastal Bloom is a two person family business, so the people who price your yard are the people who cut it.
What a maintenance visit covers
- Mowing at a height set for your grass type and the season, not one blanket setting
- Edging along drives, walks, cart paths and bed lines so the boundaries stay sharp
- String trimming around palms, posts, fences and anything the mower cannot reach
- Blowing clippings off drives, walks and lanais before we leave
- Weed control in turf and bed lines as part of the same visit
- A walk of the property each time, so a failing shrub or a stuck sprinkler head gets flagged before it becomes a bill
How the schedule works
We walk the property
We come to the property, look at the yard with you, and price the work. No charge for the visit, and no charge to come back out if something changes.
You pick the interval
Weekly holds an island lawn through the growing season. Biweekly suits smaller lots and the cooler months. Rentals usually want weekly year round so the yard never reads as neglected on a changeover day.
We hold the day
You get a set day. That matters more here than most places, because gate access, guest arrivals and quiet hours all have to be worked around.
What island properties do to a mowing schedule
Two things push Hilton Head lawns off a normal interval. The first is salt and sand. Properties toward Folly Field and the beachfront sit on sandier ground that drains hard and holds less, so turf there stresses sooner in a dry stretch and recovers slower afterward.
The second is that a lot of island property is not lived in full time. A yard nobody looks at for three weeks does not pause, it just grows, and coming back to it means cutting far more of the blade at once than the grass can take without going yellow. Holding an interval through the shoulder seasons costs less than the recovery from skipping one.

Lawn Care & Maintenance questions
Do you work inside the plantations?
Yes. We work across the island including Sea Pines, Palmetto Dunes, Palmetto Hall and Port Royal. Tell us the gate arrangement for your community when we set the schedule and we will handle it the same way each visit.
Can you keep a rental property cut between guests?
Yes, and it is a common reason people call us here. We can hold a weekly day year round so the yard is never the thing a guest notices on arrival, and we can work the timing around your changeover day if you tell us what it is.
How often should a Hilton Head lawn be cut?
Weekly through the growing season, roughly late spring into September, and biweekly through the cooler months. Sandier island ground makes the recovery from a missed cut slower, so stretching the interval here costs more than it saves.
Do I need to be home?
No. Most of our maintenance customers are not. We need reliable access, so tell us about gate codes, pass requirements, locks or dogs when we set the day.
