Sandy soil drains fast. Water moves through it quicker than it does through clay, which means long infrequent soaks push a lot of water straight past the root zone where nothing can use it.
Zoning is what solves this. Turf, established shrubs and new plantings all want different amounts on different intervals, and separating them lets each get what it needs. Grouping the whole yard onto one schedule guarantees something is being overwatered and something else is being starved.

Irrigation Installation questions
How many zones does my yard need?
It depends on the size and how varied the property is. A yard with full sun turf out front, shaded beds along one side and new plantings at the back needs those separated. We work it out on the walkthrough.
Will installing irrigation tear up my lawn?
There is some disturbance where line is run and it is visible for a short while. We put the yard back as we go, and on an established lawn the lines close up as the turf fills back in.
Can you add to a system I already have?
Yes. Extending into a new bed or a newly sodded area is common. We will check the existing system can carry the extra before we add to it, because overextending a system starves every zone on it.
What does the one month warranty cover?
The install itself, so heads, line and the work we did. It does not cover damage from digging, vehicles or freeze after we have handed it over.
